Welcome to SCS Academics!

Stockdale Christian School offers highly-acclaimed education for Preschool, Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior High and International Students. We also have special programs to meet the needs of homeschooled students, and we are proud to be one of the few private Christian schools to accommodate students with special learning needs.

Stockdale Christian School is fully accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International), and CITR (Commission on International and Transregional Accreditation). We believe it is important to serve our students with the best curriculum and delivery of that curriculum, so they can receive the most in their academic education. We’re held accountable by the best and are proud of the accreditation we have earned here at SCS.

Homeschool PSP

Stockdale Christian School’s Private School Satellite Program (PSP) is an independent study program. It partners for excellence in Christian home education, Grades K-8 and is supported and accredited by both WASC and ASCI.

Stockdale Christian School’s Private Satellite Program (PSP) is an independent study program and partners for excellence in Christian home education for grades K-8. Our PSP provides support for your home education efforts through the assistance of our director and fully-qualified home educator. The program has been designed with two important considerations in mind:

  • It is the desire of the school board and staff at SCS to support and encourage Christian home educators in the pursuit of excellence in the training and education of their children.
  • We believe that this can best be accomplished by offering resources available at SCS, by sharing in accountability, and by encouraging home educators to support and assist one another in their educational adventures.

Shawna Poe is the Director of our Homeschool Private Satellite Program. Beginning with a one-day in-service visit in August, Shawna meets with homeschool families at least twice during the school year to offer guidance and encouragement, as well as answer any questions they may have concerning their child’s education.

We offer a variety of activities including field trips, craft days, book clubs, on-campus classes and much more to assist families in their home-education journey.

We encourage our families to get to know one another and develop friendships that will last a lifetime! It is our sincere hope that SCS’ PSP provides parents with the proper blend of resources, accountability and flexibility needed to fulfill the calling for a home-based educator.

Please contact Shawna Poe via telephone at (661) 327-3927 x 7040, or by email at for more information.

Discovery, Special Needs

Discovery Program
The Discovery Program utilizes techniques from the National Institute for Learning Development. It is designed to stimulate deficit areas rather than teach compensatory strategies. This long term educational therapy is specifically designed for students who have been tested and diagnosed with specific learning disabilities. Students attend therapy sessions twice a week for one hour and twenty minutes each session, during school hours. Trained educational therapists work with parents and teachers to ensure the student’s academic success.

Teach Program
The Teach Program is designed to identify and address students with developmental delays that may affect their learning. This program is specifically for students in kindergarten and first grade. An educational therapist works with the student in a one-on-one setting for 30 minutes, 2-4 times a week to assist the student in their development.

Tutoring for all subjects is available on our campus. A credentialed teacher is available to help students fill gaps in their learning by assisting with classwork and content.
